The Arcitype Makes A Beat Live In Studio

February 24, 2011

Producer The Arcitype takes viewers inside of his recording studio to show how he makes a recording from scratch. Besides the live bass and keyboard work, it’s nice to see the recording and use actual authentic hand claps.

Yeah very dope dude… Are you using that MPC or Reason??

The Arcitype February 24, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Yo Thanks to everyone for the props! @D-Marz, using Record from Propellerhead.

Heir February 24, 2011 at 6:11 pm

Well done! Refreshing and authentic.
Some beat making video’s are a dime a dozen but this one was short and to the point with some polish.

520 February 28, 2011 at 6:26 pm

Peace! Beat is nasty! You mind sharing what refill that is you use for the bells?

ClearBlue February 24, 2011 at 5:12 pm

Beautiful studio! Definitely not your typical approach to making beats. When I first heard the track I thought it was definitely a flipped record because of that vocal sample. The final product sounded great and authentic even though it was not sampled. I just thought it was funny he used the synth for the rhodes sound and not the actual rhodes.

Trumaine February 24, 2011 at 6:28 pm

Real dope bro….but hmmmmm “strings” would be good but good shit though!

Magilakutti : The DJ February 24, 2011 at 7:10 pm

That was hot…I’m gonna check this cat out.

Shawn Biggs February 25, 2011 at 1:16 am

A-Sharp February 25, 2011 at 1:42 pm

open i February 25, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Izzy February 25, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Thats a dope beat and its cool that you showed the process to making a beat.

DiskoDaveBBB February 25, 2011 at 9:10 pm

BoChosen February 25, 2011 at 11:59 pm

Can’t stop nodding… warm, fuzzy, and soulful. I’ll definitely be checking for you. Big up, Fam.

DEEDEE February 26, 2011 at 5:13 am

For me this a reminder, why certain things are played out. Like sped up vocal samples. I just heard this same style coming from another person. Sorry no edge or originality. On a positive note, nice studio.

yoy February 26, 2011 at 5:45 pm

and this is why i hate the internet sometimes.

Swamptank February 26, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Beats dope !
@DEEDEE you lookin for too much criteria when listening to a beat bro, even if a tracks got a certain style that you dismiss, you gotta listen to the beat for whT it is. If it works it works, in this case this dude kills in my opinion. Stop makin yourself a checklist for what beat should be and just feel it out who the f* cAres if a process is popularized, if it’s good, then it’s good. This a reminder for you – stop looking for an equation

yoy February 26, 2011 at 5:46 pm

true dat.

The Arcitype February 27, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Just wanna hop on and again say thanks to everyone that has shown me love on this video. Feels great to know that what I’m doing is being well received out there. Stay up, stay listening, and know that I got nothing but love and respect for all of you.

juiceboxjackson February 28, 2011 at 2:02 am

whhhhhhaaaaa?? where in the world have I been sleeping on this dude from?? Never heard of him but clearly, he has his shite together.

Side note: I believe a purchase of that Nord board is in the makings for me…the keyboard player for Amos Lee was using that one a couple months ago when I saw them play and it had one of the illest rhodes/organ patches I’ve ever heard…this video only reaffirms that suspicion!!!

REL!G!ON February 28, 2011 at 2:25 am

Great production. I loved all the live elements. Nice studio!

Sinosure February 28, 2011 at 6:15 pm

There are some fascinating points on this article but I don’t know if I see all of them heart to heart. There’s some validity however I’ll take hold an opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we wish more! Added to FeedBurner as well.

MsBeatJunkie December 26, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Very nice vibe…really dope beat. He did something that I stopped doing and need to start back doing to my beats to make it fuller and warm. I peeped it. Thanks of sharing with us
