Diddy Clarifies His Criticism of DJ’s

I know that we’ve given Diddy too much airtime the past couple of days, but this one couldn’t be avoided.  Diddy clarifies his previous comments concerning DJ’s, calls for responsibility, and dares DJ’s to experiment with their playlists stating, " You have to have the heart to clear the dancefloor."

Note:  Does anyone else find glaring contradictions in his mention of responsibility in music/entertainment?

  1. OK HATERS.I THINK DIDDY DID A GOOD JOB CLARIFYING IT. I HAD YOUR BACK ON THE LAST JOB. ONLY THING I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS WAS WHEN IT WAS ALL ABOUT NEW YORK NEW YORK NEW YORK YOU WEREN’T COMPLAINING THEN WHEN YOU BECAME A BILLIONARE.IM FROM VA SO I VIBE OFF ALL MUSIC EVERYWHERE EAST WEST NORTH SOUTH FRANCE AFRICA UK .lol ANYWAY I FEEL YOU DITTY THATS JUST MY 2 CENTS.I ADMIT I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ONE SONG WITHOUT A DRUM ROLL IN IT.AUTO TUNE SOUNDS LIKE SHIT TO ME.BUT A DJ THAT WORKS AT A STRIP CLUB TOLD ME THE HOES LOVE IT AND HE GOTTA KEEP THE RUNWAY PACKED SO IT IS WHAT IT IS.

  5. this dude talking about having the heart to clear the dance floor the man responsible for the 3min sample get the fck outta here

  6. IF THE DJ HAS TO CHANGE THEN THE PEOPLE HAVE TO CHANGE. AS A DJ ITS HARD ROCKING A PARTY WHEN THE PEOPLE REFUSE TO MOVE TO A SONG UNLESS ITS A HIT THAT THEY KNOW. ESPECIALLY IN BLACK CLUBS,YEAH I SAID IT. MOST PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW THIS BLOG R PROGRESSIVE BUT THE REST OF THE WORLD AINT. AT 10PM PEOPLE R REQUESTIING BEYONCE AND JAY Z….DAMN,LET A DJ BUILD UP TO THAT. THE DJ CANT CHANGE UNLESS THE PEOPLE DO.

  7. Yo man, Im a DJ, Diddy is straight up wack. He single handidly sold out a culture for money, he even watered down B.I.G. he remade Pete Rocks Juicy so he didnt have to pay him and he made it worse and more commercial. He doesnt have a fucking clue what he is talking about he hasnt ever been a part of the culture and if a DJ plays wack shit to keep the crowd moving he’s a fucking wack DJ. DJ’s should play whatever they like and keep the crowd involved by showing their skills. Man I hate all this wack commercial shit. Fucking gay autotune and VST’s, samplings where its at. One last thing, no self respecting HIP HOP DJ would ever play anything Diddy had a hand in, cause not of it has even an inch of artistic integrity, other than B.I.G, but still, Diddy watered that shit down.

  8. Yo this dude just said to mix some opera with some african bongo drums..what the fuck!!
    the industry is dying yo

  9. pete rock did not origionally make the song juicy ‘ im not a dj and i know that. google it.u can’t bash anyone till you get your facts straight.you gotta go back further than the 80’s and 90’s for that crate dog.

  10. TONY – Based one what Pete Rock said in an interview with WaxPoetics, it’s actually TRUE that Pete Rock’s version of Juicy was the joint Biggie originally discovered; but, the Diddy man decided to fuck with it with his production crew (TRACKMASTERS) and smooth it out into a BBQ-type jawn.

    Here’s some clarification:

“Producer Pete Rock, who was commissioned to remix the track, alleged that Puffy stole the idea for the original song’s beat after hearing it from him during a visit. Rock explained this in an interview with Wax Poetics:[4]

“I did the original version, didn’t get credit for it. They came to my house, heard the beat going on the drum machine, it’s the same story. You come downstairs at my crib, you hear music. He heard that shit and the next thing you know it comes out. They had me do a remix, but I tell people, and I will fight it to the end, that I did the original version of that. I’m not mad at anybody, I just want the correct credit.”

Rock’s remix for “Juicy” uses the same sample as the original.”

  11. oh ok cool . i was just wondering cause . your say they both remade the same song . i can dig it. i tought you were saing they both meaning diddy and the legendary pete rock made the origional.i knew something was wrong with that picture lol

  12. I know I’m late to this one but it must be said:

Diddy’s pissed about not having more stuff to steal. He wants you to take risks and do the research on what will sell so that it can be stolen.

Did I say steal? I meant, transformed into a world class product!

    hee hee…
