Ty Fyffe’s Beat CD & Track Selling Strategies

Miss Drama interviews 50 Cent producer Ty Fyffe to explore his criteria for working with artists, track pricing, selling strategies, and beat CD sequencing.  If pressed for time, skip to 7:02, which is when the most valuable aspects of the interview take place.

They feel my music.  They take my calls. Ya know, I don’t wear out my welcome.  I don’t give people 30 and 40 tracks on CD.  I don’t call people every day.  When I got it, they say, “Yo, what time you coming?  You got it?”  They know I’m not playing.

How many tracks do you usually display, like about what 5 or something?

Nowadays about 6, no more than 10 tracks.  No more, because I’m not trying to sit with people all day.

  1. What kind of stuck up idiot actually calls THEMSELVES a super producer? I just went on his site and some video started playing and he said the same thing again. The man may be amazing at production but still seems like a douchebag.

  2. man always keeps mention about “business” all day he thinks about business business business… this guy is pissing me off. Atleast be in the game for the love of it… ppl nowadays.. i understand ppl gotta pay the bills, eat etc but this guy seems like he has no love just business.

  3. Yo I had no problem with what he said he is doing him and I respect that. Ty spent alot of time in VA and I have heard of his work over at future records for teddy riley but that woman in the background needs to turn her mic down ! he is speaking at one level and she is way up here . she should run her mic through a compressor with her squeaky a..s voice !!!

  4. when any of us can get to the point of charging 20k for beats, then you can start determining who is a “super” producer or not…

  5. Ty came off as kind of a douche but he’s been in da game since the early 90’s , so he’s probably been actually makin beats since the 80’s, its 2010, all that for the love shit sounds good when u never seen a check, you expect him to be doin it for the love for 25 years and not get paid, lets get real.

  6. Nicole Scherzinger has recently explained that she’s thankful that she succeeded Cheryl Cole regarding the X-Factor USA. She claims she is really ‘better served’ as a suitable judge instead of as a host.
