TOYO KASEI Vinyl Factory Tour

May 13, 2010

Japanese vinyl maker Toyo Kasei opens its doors to show how a smaller plant operates. Unlike the mass automated plants that viewers have become accustomed to seeing, at Toyo Kasei each record is individually pressed, trimmed, and labled by an technician.

Thanks for posting this video! Always wanted to see a Japanese vinyl facility.

Always good to see people keeping it real out there!

This is ridiculously cool! I had a friend who cut his own vinyl in college and it was mindblowing to see the whole process unfold.

You description is not correct…. this plant also uses fully automated presses – those green machines you see at the start and end of your video. These two manual presses are for small-run specialty records such as 10″ and picture discs.
