…Show has proven that he can make music that is superb. I highly doubt that he is going to pull something spectacular out of his ass with this machine, but then again, he probably just did this on camera to fuck around. I KNOW he is capable of much better, so why are all of these people judging him based on this one video? I bet they cant produce any better…matter of fact, their shit is probably worse considering all the hate hes getting. He, along with Finesse, Ahmed, Diamond D, and even E Blaze to an extent have cemented New York as a viable competitor.

You can appreciate Show’s contribution and still not fuck with the video. I think we gotta put the disappointment in context. He’s talking like he’s doing something incredible on that machine and he’s not, frankly. People need to keep in mind that this is NOT the type of setup that Show made “Runaway Slave” on which was an SP1200 and likely a s950. It was a different time with different technology and what he did back then was unquestionably ill and one of the top hip hop albums ever produced, (the samples he and his crew unearthed alone, were earth shattering ), but i think what you’re seeing here is an older producer who, while unquestionably a legend, is not maximizing (and overwhelmed by) the capabilities of a newer machine that is not his staple. It’s unlikely that he will do anything mind blowing on a 2500. That in no way diminishes his previous contribution. An analogy is how Grandmaster Flash is a fucking icon, but he’s not going to do anything Qbert-esque on the turntables. He’d be the first to admit that technically that’s the next level of what he pioneered.

Listen on all them Show & A.G. albums , this nigga was chopping the shit out of drum breaks when niggas was looping them shits..he is one of the reasons I wanted to produce records, or buy a MPC, and if it’s so EASY make the classic albums he did! come close to “Sound Of Da Police” come close to “Full Scale” I mean yall guys have NO respect, he has NOTHING to prove. He already did what many wanted to do in the early 90’s and beyond. I mean Diggin In The Crates.. nobody wasn’t saying that shit till them brothas did that! shit on that too! shit on how they took record diggin to a whole another level. Mr. auto chop! that’s what YOU DO. So if you haven’t made classic albums, and when you walk in a record store the shit is on the wall for a $100 or better, work with Pun, KRS One, Big L, etc. And if you from the East Coast! you really should be a shame.. he is one of the reasons for that NYC sound.. drums, obscure samples… matter of fact this nigga brought a whole record store at a point in the era.. you shit on Showbiz you shittin on Diamond D, Buckwild, Lord Finesse, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, etc The Bronx!
