Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle Chicago Finals
View footage from the recent Red Bull Big Tune Chicago Beat Battle. In the final round producers Tall Black Guy and Rio went head to head to determine who had the hottest tracks in the Windy City. At times it looked more like a dance competition, but even fancy footwork and on stage antics can’t take the place of a well arranged instrumental. Much respect to the finalists… they both killed it!

They’re both nice with it. I imagine that competing in these battles requires a certain type of beat making…beats tailored to this kind of thing - crowd pleasers, hype stuff. Is it standard format to play your beats of cd turbtables now? I am really interested in trying my hand at this stuff. I was pretty impressed by both dudes.

Decent, not wack, but definitely not outstanding either…
