PotLuckCon Audio Conference – New Orleans

Those lucky enough to be in the New Orleans area on June 6-8, 2008 can head over to the PotLuckCon Audio Conference.  Sponsored by Sweetwater, PreSonus, Universal Audio, Audio Technica, and Tape Op Magazine, this is one of those conferences that I’d make serious sacrifices to attend.  There’s so much going on here it would be like overload for anyone into equipment or production.

Some of the valuable workshops include:

  • Mastering Demos
  • Pro-Tools LE & HD
  • Soldiering
  • Nuendo
  • Mix Tricks
  • Room Measurement & Treatment
  • Patch Bays & Grounding
  • Audio Restoration
  • Mobile Recording
  • Tracktion
  • Circuit Bending

For the Hip-Hop minded there is specifically:
Exploring Hustle & Flow: Urban Hip-Hop Music in Film-Making
In Their Own Words: Urban and Hip-Hop Producers Discuss Their Craft

The cost of the conference is dirt cheap considering that you will be receiving what looks to be one of the few events consisting of actual substance (not to mention a crash course in professional recording complete with gear giveaways).  No unsigned artists pitching demos or lofty label reps, simply a bunch of recording junkies and enough gear talk to satisfy the studio junkie in all of us.

Early Registration (until May 30th): $295
Returning Attendees: $250
Early Student Registration: $150
Early Returning Student Registration: $125
There are also a bunch of other ways to save on registrations fees

See the PotLuckCon website for more info and head over to Tape Op for a free subscription to their bi-montlhly magazine.
