Mixtapes and Lupe Fiasco Orginal Samples

December 2, 2006

It’s been a crazy week trying to finish the absolute final version of the classic Hip Hop/Samples mixtape for Science Skateboards, but it is finally done and I can get back to focusing on samples, production, and the development of the website.  Check out the revised mix and let me know what you think.

I also have to give a bit of credit to producer Soundtrakk for the extraordinary work he did on Lupe Fiasco’s Kick Push.  I’ll have to make sure that I keep an eye for him in the future because this cat was digging deep in crates with a sample of Filipino singer Celeste Legaspi’s Bolero Medley.  This was a sample that I never would have found nor flipped the way that he did… much respect!

Yeah, that’s a crazy sample to use. I hadn’t heard of Soundtrakk before Lupe’s album, but he’s put together a couple of nice beats for Gemini’s upcoming album. I’ll be checking for him in the future.

I’ve been meaning to get this sample but have been dragging my feet. I’m inspired to keep track of Soundtrakk because of this song.
