Jermaine Dupri Track Submission Opportunity

July 25, 2008

Not much in terms of technical info, but it looks like JD and Q  are accepting track submissions by email.  I know many of you are holding heat, so it might not be a bad idea to throw some fire their way.

As with all business endeavors, make sure you take appropriate measures to protect your intellectual property.

that track in the video uses a sample called “duty free” which is fire and they wasted its potential on that mediocre track

JD is not a good executive IMO. He was doing pretty good a job back then. But he hasn`t break no new talent for a couple of years. Damn I hope Dondria can blow up.

But anyway still gotta send all those tracks to him. Hopefully someday we hear some sosodef tracks that came from cratekings.

You guys are crazy. If this is real I don’t want to send tracks over the internet. I have much respect for Jermaine.
Just hit me up at my email address or call! If this is real!

Ya`ll be surprised of how many producers are tired of the inside people they deal with. If you want knew creativity outside your circle, what you gonna do, drive all over the world? When your craft is protected, you can send it anywhere to anybody, is`nt that the whole idea.

Thank you for putting this up, we got some good feedback from JD. although only our EPK sent and our tracks did not for some reason. maybe the st8hits@gmail.com address was wrong.

Reply

Semantik August 4, 2008 at 7:37 am

@L.A. Vell
That’s pretty much the idea. The U.S. Copyright office even does digital submissions making protecting your work even easier.

@cashandkhaled
Glad we could help. I get the feeling that there issues with the address. Q seemed to have issues with how it was spelled. He said “straight” hits, but spelled out “st8hits”, maybe we’ll be able to get some clarification for the future.

I’m just really looking forward to see where hiphop is going because these days you have to put everything into a category meaning soldier boy is pop rap. Or hip pop not hating on his money making just don’t call it hip hop or rap and the other thing is the rap game is not the same almost everybody can rap but the point is who can rap good and make songs. In todays society with music you have to be real creative well check out the myspace music page and hit up the email with any comments right now I’m waiting for my turn to hear back from norman bell this week mobb deeps manager or old manager but to all hiphop artist keep your heads up and don’t give up

JD has never produced for any real hip hop lyricists, real street dudes…i hope this is the beginning to a new chapter but i have to say that mc battles rarely produce good songwriters.itz some dudez wit a million bars, but they cant incorporate the ‘battle rapper type of flow’ into good songs.i seen this one dude destroy Gin( the chinese dude who was signed to ruff ryders, sick wit the freestyles), so i checked out the dudes music… and it was garbage!! there’s a lot of good stuff out there especially in the digital world..i dont think rap battles r the way to go anymore. i been there…done that…now itz about making songz and albums..its about presenting the total package and a movement. http://www.myspace.com/bubbzskorseze,www.reverbnation.com/bubbzskorseze

THEY USUALLY JUST MAKE ONE CATCHY SONG N THEY GET SIGNED BASED ON THE RECORD COMPANY WANTING TO CAPITALIZE OFF OF ONE HIT SONG. THEN THE ARTISTS USUALLY CANT PRODUCE ANOTHER HIT AND FALL OFF.U WANT REAL HIP HOP MUSIC, THE TOTAL PACKAGE…COME FUKS WIT ME….ITZ THE NEW NEW JERZ!

I think its fantastic that a hip hop genius is giving an opportunity to us new artist. I have been around hip hop for over ten years and as hip hop evolves and becomes more mature now i know the time has finnally arrived for my brand of urban diplomacy to flurish.

Hey, Jermaine I read your book and I felt a spiritual vibe and strong connection to your story as you climbed to the top. I respect your brilliant business tactics like when you discovered Chris Cross, and T.L.C. I admire your hustle slash classy swagger and I just first wanted to say God Bless You and everything else that you touch, The Best is yet to come. I know that you don’t get the credit that you deserve, but all that is in secret shall come to the light.
The First Shall Be Last And The Last Shall Be First. You are a positive role model in ways that you may not understand and it’s your blessed duty to pass down your knowledge to the righteous so that you fire never goes out.

My manager and I are just looking for God to lead us to the right person that will just take the time to listen to my music for real because were 100% Real, no fake shit, no gimicks, not robots, but real musicians (All origional) that respect where we came from starting from the 17 century.
