I was just bumping around and wasting a little time when I ran across this interview where J Dilla discusses the use of beats and ID tags. Of course there are many more lessons to be learned, so pay attention… you might just get schooled.

I think J-Dilla’s the real man & deserves some true respect
each & every beat he makes(that I usually repeat about six times before it sinks in) has it’s own uniqueness…big ups to all the artists that ever worked with him, it’s a bummer I couldn’t be part of it…peace (Theko-South Africa)
