There's no easy way to answer this really, because there's no way of actually knowing. Could be that the kick he used already sounded like that, and it has had nothing done to it, or it could be a normal kick that has a certain amount of reeverb on it. I'd say that it sounds like a pretty standard drum but the main element i can hear is reeverb, but you're just gonna have to keep tweaking

the thing about it you gotta realize is kanye gets official mastering for all of his mixes. i believe its Vlador Mello who does all his mastering. i highly doubt kanye engineered that kick. he might of programed it. i could be wrong though.

Kanye is a maniac about his drums... did you ever see the video showing the making of Stronger? Like the others said... really no way of knowing just what the hell he did to it.

sounds like there's a good deal of reverb on the kick. And that bass line under it fattens the kick too.

I agree, it sounds like a good clean real drum sample with a bit of reverb.

Default easy ....

it's just a live kick drum. a nice big roomy stomp on a foot pedal. there are alot of reason refills that provide the sound your looking for. tons of 1 shot hits an rex loops that are sliced hit by hit.

Default Good Luck

I would be more interested on making sounds of my own, because for one thing yeah these guys use drum machines but these albums are mastered so even in the boom room the whole damn song could sound a little bit different than it would by the time its been mastered, remastered, EQ'd and kick all around before it makes to the final cut for the album..!! Shits serious kid make your own foul ass kicks.!!
