Peace yall...i'm pretty new to the whole forum thing but it seems like an amazing resource. Anway I'm thinkin about buying an MPC 1000 off of craigs list and I'm nervous about the pads going out. I've heard about this happening but I wanted to get ya'lls take on it. Have you had it happen? Is it something that I should expect to happen? Basically is it enough of a problem that I shouldn't buy it? Thanks for any help you can give me, peace

Did you ask the person selling the mpc if all the pads are working proplery? If the pads are bad on the MPC 1000 they're selling than look for one the is working properly. If you can't resist the price replacement pads are avaliable.
Its worth it... just got mine a while back, used off ebay. pads still perfect, but should they ever go out, theres a guy on MPC-forums by the name of antonym who created quality pads for the mpc1000.
Same feel and shit of the classic mp pads, and amazing sensors and pressure indicators that even gaurantee corner hits on the pads..
I'm facing a dilemma. I have some cash right now, and I've wanted a good midi controller/synth for a long time, but all of a sudden there's an MPC 1000 for sale locally. I haven't seen it yet, but dude says it's in good working order. He stressed the pads are "very responsive". Imma go see it tonight hopefully.

Argh, keyboard or MPC? Any thoughts?
well...if your sampling, you can use a asr-10 thats about the only good sampling keyboard still available...but the technology is really old and it kinda gets frustrating some times. U will run in to some problems with the asr and its really hard to learn so u better get a manual. So i would go for the mpc...the mpc is really easy to use...just my little 2 cents.
