Default How Long Are Your Beat Tapes?

This local record label keeps asking for one how long should I make it? Also I've only met the label's owner none of the rappers, how many different styles should I use for it? I'm thinking I should change it up a lot right? I have no clue of what they're looking for, dude met a friend of mine and he heard some remixes, now he wants beats.

I think this is dumb and going into this blind isn't my thing...but hey it's a long weekend, I'm going to get this dude out of my ear and give him a beat tape.

I would be careful fam. I wouldnt be given away beat cd's to labels without talkin to them alot about it first. Make sure you put some sort of legal statement on the cover or something

you gotta be careful. regardless of contracts/whatever people can steal your shit with no repercussions. You can't get into anything legal unless you're not using samples. In other words, you can't legally say "dude stole my shit", when legally your shit is stolen from someone else. It's kind of like a drug dealer wanting to call the cops when someone robs him for his stash

I guess you could put really irritating ID tags all over everything... that's so annoying though. Yeah man, use your judgement and be cautious

I would watermark your beats, nothing too loud so they distract from the tracks, but enough so they make the beats unusable. Repeat your name every fourth bar or something, loud enough so it's there but not so it ruins the beat, maybe like a stab or something. On my myspace page there's an old beatcomp where I do that, just to give you the idea what I mean.
