I definitely agree with you on this one...

But I don't think you can compare them so easily like that. A belief is quite different than a theory the way you are comparing them. God is belief based on...what? The big bang theory is based on many things which can be tested. It's certainly hasn't been proven to be a fully solid case, but it does require physical evidence to try to prove or disprove it.

Yea volumatic thats true. A very important principle is to learn the origins of everything. Just about everything has a origin in theory. The big bang theory people think of as somthing coming from nothing but its the opposite. Somthing big was ceated from something tiny. the materials for the universal have always been. The story of god also can be traced back to an origin but do to the nature of it, becuase its a story, the origins are less tangeble.

Sciencewise its imposible for man to prove lineage to god but the stories always end up in that manner like the romans and greeks. Most of the stories in the bible are derived from other cultures. The holy trinity shows its origins in ancient egypt but in later identified as isis, osiris, and horus in greek. than became known as the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Most cultures contribute their existence to a higher power.

I have also read david ickes book the chidren of the matrix. There are several books and philosophies based around that exact subject. Its really odd tho if you do not fully understand it. I remember watching the outer limits (not the old ones tho) and noticing the exact symbolizism david icke was talking about
in the book. Its preety creepy

That is something else entirely way bigger than "do you believe in god".

I was taught not to make judgements based on what i want to hear. People have to go and ask that question what is my purpose or is there live after death, why this, why that, than get angry or defensive and turned off because they dont like the answer thats been given.

You might not like the truth but that wont make it less true. I remember showing a lady 22:16 in revelations of the king james bible and the etymology of the word lucifer, just as it connected in her mind somewhat she snatch her bible from me and rebuked me in the name of the lord. Than she said something about demons and dont touch her bible again like she was really freaked out but im like "here is some proof right here" but instead of doing the research and attempting to unterstand it she got defensive and used her belief as a shield agianst evidence.

Its just a little research.

I find it funny how many people are Christians but don't study their own religion to any extent. I personally am not a believer of any religion but if I believed in a higher power/life after death/spirit/etc. you better believe I would spend every waking minute of my day thinking about it.

My parents are both agnostic/atheist but I have a bunch of religious relatives and I decided to read the bible my grandma gave me for my birthday. It's a really interesting read but boy let me tell you their is some weird stories in their. For example God decides to destroy Sodom for being decadent but first warns the one good family to leave but warns them they can't look back. Well Lot's wife decides to look back and BAM! God turns her into a fucking pillar of salt. Then it's just lot and his two daughters living up in a cave and what do they decide to do? They decide to get their father so drunk that he won't know any better and he'll have sex with them and impregnate them. So basically two girls decide to more or less rape their father to start a tribe. That story just comes out of nowhere.

No. I dont believe in god. GOD??? by most standards meaning a big white dude in the sky??
This "god" that gave me a brain...that has nothing to ponder but LOGIC??

Doesnt make sense at ALL.

Possibly some kind of intelligent design. MAYBE.

Physics. Logic.

I believe in things that are not related to primitive species.

Get Real.

I just love how unfalsafiable it is. "Well, you can't prove there ISN'T God, soo...."

But hey, are ideas real? God is probably the biggest human idea, and has had the most impact on history, more than all other ideas combined. Maybe. Depending on how you define 'idea'. The idea of God has VERY real repercussions. So... is it real? I dunno what that even means.

Well obviously the concept of a god is real and their is a will of god as it is made up by humans trying to control other humans but god as a separate all knowing conscious entity that made the universe I feel I've yet to see significant proof.

I saw this lecture from this one famous biologist explaining how the human brain works and how are brains are adapted to understand our environment from our shape and size. For example we see solids as solid objects that are all solid space but in reality 90% of any solid is empty space where if we were smaller we'd be able to see that they're a bunch of atoms held together in a tight configuration.

The point being that humans need to explain how things work and how things are in ways that can be interpreted by the human brain. So to some giant space being or some other creature it might be obvious that the earth is revolving around the sun to a human the natural reaction is the sun is moving around the earth because how it looks to us and in the same way we are used to living in a social environment and we are used to everything in our lives being the result of the conscious action of another living creature.

When things happen to us that happen that aren't caused by another living creature like lightning striking a person dead people in ancient times chose to say that an invisible being in the sky (such as zeus, god, etc.) was responsible.
As humans we have to explain events from the perspective of a human, "god killed john with lightning because he was mad at him" instead of "a bunch of molecules floating in the air got negatively/positively charged and then jumped to negatively/positively charged ions in the ground," because the way our brains are built the first explanation is easier to understand even though it's untrue.

And that is why until further proof is prevented I don't believe in god, fate, spirit energy, chi, whatever magical what have you. But I wasn't brought up religious so I'm not one of those guys going around talking about how religion sucks and I don't care what anyone believes in.

Hey if the rapture happens right as I finish typing this and Jesus descends through the clouds I'd become a believer on the spot obviously and hopefully god isn't the type of petty guy who's gonna say "fuck you, you didn't believe in me. now go suffer eternal hellfire"
