I don't wanna single you out Ismus, you have conviction in your beliefs and you're pretty polite and everything too. But, is there any way to have 'absolute proof' about anything?
Anything at all? That they're telling the truth in the news? That other people actually exist? At some point you have to trust that your 5 senses are telling you the truth, but there's no proof of that. Basically we all have
faith that our 5 senses are dependable.
So our lives are all totally dependant on faith. We just don't notice this faith because generally the information from our senses seems to all agree and line up and work out for us consistently. So we assume that our senses are iron-clad, which clearly they're not. Check out any optical illusion to see what I mean.
But Ismus, I take it you're using the word 'ignorant' in a fiesty, baiting kind of way, but when pressed you say that it's not meant to be an insult? That's fine I guess, but don't be surprised when people get offended when you call them ignorant. You also called p.illa a 'fool' which most of us consider an insult too. Just pointing it out.
This is, of course, a touchy subject. But can we all agree that it's impossible to objectively proove that God exists, and also impossible to objectively prove that God
doesn't exist? Belief in the theory of Evolution is just as much faith as belief in Creationism, to my way of thinking.
A few months ago my son (4 and a half) asked me if God is a little toy action figure. I was like, "I don't think so, but no one really knows."
