I've been rounding up and listening to a lot of psychedelic music from the 60's/early 70's.

Just got this record in the mail today (Reissue, limited green vinyl):
CAN-Ege Bamyasi

Also Fever Tree, Puff, Iron Butterfly. As soon as I got the time I'll drop some samples from all the psychedelic albums Ive been diggin up. Whats weird is Im pulling all these old albums and actually finding samples used from a lot of Madlib and Edans work.

I've been rocking that Guilty Simpson "Stray Bullets" PODCAST mixed by DJ Rhettmatic. Im really stoked about the soon to be released Guilty album Ode To The Ghetto.

I've also been listening to DJ Shadows Endtroducing album. I have listened to this album for years....but its still blows my hair back. Still leaves me "Like Whoa". Its been stuck in my cars CD player for the last week or so.

Lou Rawls is the SHIT. Dead End Street bro. Love that shit...The long intro where he's talkin' pimp shit and then busts into the song!! Good call...

Also speaking of Axelrod...Vinyl peeps be on the lookout. I just picked up the Electric Prunes-Release of an Oath re-issue. When I bought it I asked the Record Store dude what the story was with the re-issues, He said "Get it while you can...They only released like 1000 issues (of re-issues)."

Nice piece to have in your collection, re-issue or not.

The new Erykah Badu album. It's got some nice tracks. Some boring ones too.

The new Steve Malkmus Album. He was the singer/songwriter/main guitar player from the band Pavement. Love the way he plays the git box...and his tone.

I've been rockin In Rainbows since I got it a couple months ago. And that Amp Live remix album too...Ill

Tricky - Maxinquaye. This one never makes it very far from my CD player. Any of you guys down with Tricky? This album is the shit.

Anything Madlib! Hunting down all his shit right now!

(links to any of his albums would be very helpful, as I don't have to much right now and would like to get as much as I can, PM would be great).

there's this Paul McCartney album from 1981, called II, with some pretty far-out shit on it. When I try to describe it to word 'funky' tries to creep in, but I won't let it, but it's there hovering around the edges. It's not like I would necessarily recommend this album, but ... it's just been on my mind a lot lately. and in my car.

Only english dudes should know what i'm talking about here, but i recently gave ''The Streets'' first album, ''Original Pirate Material'', another listen. So much better than ''A Grand Don't Come For Free.'' It's one of the few albums i've heard that i can listen all the way through, without skipping...and then go right back to the first track and listen again. I don't quite know how to classify the sound of it, it's not hip hop, it's not rap, i wouldn't class it as garage, it's just...'the streets.' If you are American, i would recommend giving a few tracks from this album a listen, as a producer - this album is really inspiring, i find myself hearing tracks from it and thinking - ''how the fuck did he come up with that arrangement?''

Peep it;

Has It Come To This
The Irony Of It All (very clever track)
Don't Mug Yourself
Weak Become Heroes (Another very clever track)
Turn The Page (amazing arrangement)
Push Things Forward (again, very clever and again - amazing arrangement - notice a pattern emerging?)
