Looking For Kraftwerk-Type Samples
Sup, everybody.
Can anybody tell me where i can find some of those samples like Kraftwerk used on the album "Computer World"??
For that matter, any samples used by Soul Sonic Force, Twilight 22, Cybatron, Junzun Crew, & Art Of Noise samples sources would be apreciated.
Thanx.

Re: Looking For Kraftwerk-Type Samples
please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Kraftwerk did any sampling. I think they made all their shit on synths and the like.

This would be correct they're pretty much top of the food chain for electro-rock. Analog synths, drum machines and something like a Speak & Spell.

yeah, food chain, they're like the big fish that eats all the other little fish. Only in this case, it's more like a bunch of little fish nibbling on the big fish

Re: Looking For Kraftwerk-Type Samples
YEAH soul sonic, jonzun crew, etc all used synths. some took inspiration from existing vinyl.. if ya want that sort of feel just get some old records were someone is playing a moog synth that should help ya a little........... i saw a clip of kraftwerk in concert the other day and to me it just looked like four middle aged men on stage checking they e-mails

Re: Looking For Kraftwerk-Type Samples
Yea, Kraftwerk were among the pioneers of the Electro Rock. However, they too have been inspired by some that were not as famous people. They were among the first to break with their sound.
But, anyway, I'm just interested in some of the sounds like the ones these guys used. I know I won't find the EXACT sounds they used unless I sampled them straight from their studio tapes. Like some of the kits that Crate Kings sells like Mannie Fresh. Well, they COULDN'T have gotten those samples straight from his actual disks & multi-track studio recordings.
Thanks for the input, non-the-less. Keep em coming.

Re: Looking For Kraftwerk-Type Samples
You know, I thought about that.
Aside from not having the CDs of the KW songs, I've listened to some of those "Drum Kits" out there and i'm not a fan of a sound sample coming from the actual song mixed with other backing instruments in it. You know what I mean?? If it's a sound from the song I would use, it would have to be from a 'breakdown' (instrument solo performance before the song builds back up to its full form).
Thanks a lot for the post, take it ez.
