Obviously you can't deny the influence of Rza, Dre, Premier and Dilla. These guys "made" our favorite producers.
Jake One and Nottz are my favorites of todays Hiphop. I find myself always checking the production credits to see if either one of them got something on there. Sometimes Nottz really disappoints me, but then I check for his earlier work and I'm thinking this guy is a genious.

I have to say Dj premier is the best sampler and producer in the truest sense. Why I think he is so great is because his beats are so simple, usually not over 2 bars with pretty much any breakdown tricks or extra sounds besides scratched rap samples. Why the simplicity is magic is he isn't sampling like 8 bars out of a song and just relying on the strength of the original composition or calling to much excess attention to his production. He hits it just right, makes the emcee look good, and makes that shit bang, and at the end of the day what else is there.

just blaze is one of my favorites, constant bangers, 9th is a beast too.
