dr. dre and premo equally- you know dre is like the master in sound quality to me... he get's knocked for using samples just as they were originally composed but I can't honor people who say that... i come across hundreds of samples where I thought the producer actually did a whole lot of shit to the track, then I hear the shit and I'm like "all this mf did was push record, create a oneshot loop, and mimic the drums" examples Kanye west- REAL PEOPLE, and Pete Rock- the world is yours... in the latter case, Pete did throw sum cuts and scratches in, but I'm sayin... that's what turntablism was about way back when- taking the best part of a record and getting mf's to nod in a trance like state as they continued to bring it back...to me, dre is the shit, cuz when he take a basic loop, you'll here all kind of panned strings and other synth instruments at various locations as well as 360 degree drums.... listen to how hi-tek and alchemist sound changed when they started fucking wit dre.... changing the pitch a few semitones doesn't equate to flippin a sample to me neither- neither is playing two or three loops from various parts like kanye did on REAL PEOPLE- I love loops, shit one of my favorite beats of all time that Common Sense 'Resurrection" was an Ahmad jamal sample sped up like two semitones and looped....

and for premo- lol u already know... I tried to mimic sum of his chops and damn near punched a whole in my monitors I was so pissed off.... he got shit all over the place like chops on a 1/6 of a step scale while having others on a 1/2 step scale...

Just instrumentally RJD2 is the king (except the third hand)
But beats i dont really have a favorite, mostly: RZA, Madlib, Jdilla, MFdoom, Roots manuva and the producer from anti pop consortium

Quincy Jones (Thriller was the first album I ever listened to)..

then DJ Premier hands down.. inspired me to produce

RZA-didnt have much to work with and made a lot out of it
Just Blaze-Blueprint? Black Album? Jay-Z?
Dilla-made drums bang like no other
Pete Rock-a living legend
9th Wonder-keeping the legacy going

and most of ya'll prolly overlooked this dude.. Prince Paul.. he had prolly one of the best Hip-Hop albums ever.. Prince Among Thieves

mmm i don't really resemble my work after any individual, but Just Blaze is an influence, no doubt--and Cool & Dre
