I read other reports that HE KILLED IT....Not sure whats going on.

His Myspace page is filled with hate comments.

Yea. Rumors have BEEN flying around, with youtube videos playing supportive roles. BUT....I have never seen him be RIPPED from the stage by the fans.

Dudes on stage with him were wearing like panty-hose or something over their faces. So strange.

This has been the case with like every show in the past 2 years. But I have seen video (Chrome Children, MF Food, That song he did with De la Soul on Carson: YouTube - De la Soul Ft. Mf Doom - Rock Co.Kane Flow) that proves he is a good performer.

So...There are 2 possibilities:
#1-This is all part of the DOOMPoster promotion. If so...When the album is released it could bump up the tiers of pop-culture and be something that has people talking for a REAL LONG time.
-If this is the case...You would think that maybe DOOM would perform at all of the venue's he was SUPPOSED to perform at in the last 2 years. But this time...He would perform for FREE. Would be weird, but ya never know.

#2-He is dead or on the verge of dying. These tours, the new Madvillain ($130) could provide some more cash flow to the estate during his passing days. I mean...Is it legal to say someone is performing, people pay money to see the show, then that person never shows up??


Ha!! I love thinking about he schemes...Its like a comic book!

So that leaves 2 poss

A bit of a stretch, in my opinion, to say that it's all "part of the plan", like a big huge piece of performance art. It seems more like a big flail to me. Maybe he's hooked on some bad drugs. Something about the whole thing reminds me of weird drugs for some reason, like all the awkward situations and dishonesty that are part of it. It seems like maybe no one person has all the facts. Except of course Doom himself, maybe.

Fuckin supervillain. He has stated explicitly that it's his goal or mission to destroy rap, whatever that even means. Seems like all he's destroying is his already not huge fan base. I read a lot of angry comments on that link that Grime provided. People are pissed, and I doubt many of them will come back if it all turns out to be a fucked-up marketing ploy.

i think floyd is on to something with the health issue here...

i remember reading somewhere though that he was trying to actually bring the villanous aspect of his character in to his public persona. like he would send imposters to do interviews at magazines that had payed him to show up. its really pointless to try and speculate. however the man has given me so much good music that i could never be mad at him for fucking up some shows.

I wonder if you'd say the same thing if you drove 4 hours and paid $50.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm a pretty large Doom fan. I've even coughed up money for one of his albums and I hardly ever do that.
