what up im new to this site, but ive been doing beats and d.i.t.c for awhile now but i just moved out to la a few months ago without a car and i live off a sunset so i been diggin at amoeba which i madd pricey, and fatbeats alittle but they gotta tiny selection. anybody down for some info on some new spots with nice crates good prices? anybody actually down for some diggin? we can spark an l after and make beats. no doubt, i'd appreciate any help......

yo, what up. I think there's a monthly record show in Pasadena, at the rosebowl. Maybe it's not a record show, but a swap meet with a shit load of vinyl dealers. Google something like that and see what ya find.

I know for sure there's a monthly record show down in OC. In Buena Park on Beach Blvd just south of the 91. It's the last sunday of each month. Check the site THE GREATER ORANGE COUNTY RECORD SHOW

I know you're without a car so the OC one might be tough. But if you get a car or hook up with someone willing to make the drive with you, it's an ill show. A whole hall of vinyl. I saw Madlib and J-Rocc at the show last month.

I get stuck down here behind the orange curtain and don't make it to LA to dig, so I really don't know the spots.

Also, of course, check yellow pages for Goodwill, Salvation Army, Thrift Store, etc. Those are alway worth a check.

Yup, no prob. I moved out here too and had to find all this shit. I wish I had someone to tell me about the record shows sooner.

But just think...you now live in LA, the bigest entertainment city in the world. There are tons of places and tons of shit to check out, but you just have to find them all since it's such a huge city.

With that said, places are still closing down now and then. Two or three places I've found since I moved out have closed down. But even still, there are plenty around. Actually I didn't go to the OC record show in May becuase I had bought so many records at other ramdom places recently that I had enough to keep me busy for a month or so. Imagine that, such a glut of records that I didn't want to go the the record show where a month earlier I met and talked to Madlib. He was just looking for records like you and me. Dude was so cool too.
