man, where I live, we must have the highest amount of white Rastafarians per capita, it's pretty interesting. All these skinny white dudes with stanky dreads blessing each other and smoking copious amounts of weed.
Haha, and also I play in a reggae band. I don't have dreads though. I just like to rock, you know how it is.
Is it just me or does it sound like a few synth string hits? What is their like 8 notes in the song. It just repeats the same melody with different instruments and adds some muted guitar strumming in some parts. To me it doesn't sound like a sample at all but synth. But if it is why would it matter since you could pull whatever few notes you needed from anywhere. Another note is I read Dre doesn't like to use samples, if he hears something he likes he gets a musician to come in and play it for him so he has more freedom with it. Not a bad song but it's super simple anyone could remake that in an hour or so.
I don't know, the songs don't sound anything alike, but then again, he could have done anything to any sound in the original and created a sound that he used in the beat.
I don't hear it but yeah maybe the string hits like u's said, or even the muted bass. Nevertheless that saxophone in the george michael song would be a nice sample to flip. but i wont because theres probably already a bunch of ppl doing it right now (if it hasnt already been done)
