Default I ran into madlib and j-roc at a record show today

For real. I was at the monthly record show in Buena Park this morning and who was there diggin through the crates but Madlib and J-Roc. Just diggin like regular dudes at a regular spot.

I was J-Roc first and saw that he was with some other dude, but I just saw the back of his head. They were talking to someone. Then later I was lookin through some records and a was like "there's the dude J-Rock was with". Then he turned around and it was Madlib.

Yup, I chatted with him for a few minutes. I didn't want to be some annoying fan so I didn't go on for too long. I asked him what he was looking for. He said "Just anything really". Said he's got a new Blue Note album and a Quas album (but I already knew that anyway). He was real cool. I told him he's a huge influence on me and my music. He smiled and was like "cool, man". Then I went on looking for records.

Then when I was walkin out I saw J-roc again and said "what up". Gave him respect then I hit the road to head home and check out the wax I bought.

Actually, both dudes said they go to that show fairly regularly. I've never seen em and I've been going to this one for about a year.

I love going to my local monthly record show, but this one was extra nice.

It is real nice. Just a big hall - high school gym size - with nothing but records and a few CDs, tapes, and movies too.

There's not much else I'd get up early on a Sunday morning for. OK, well maybe for a little nookie, but I get to go back to sleep after that.

This older dude I work with told me about it about a year ago. I couldn't believe that I'd lived here for 5 years already and didn't know about it. But now I go every month. I guess there's a big one up in Pasadena too, but I' haven't made the drive for that one yet.
