two questions
iight yall, i been wondering two things and im wondering if yall feel the same way
1. when yall listening to records, about how many records do yall listen to before yall find something to sample, cuz sometimes, ill sample 8 out of 10 songs i hear, but then other times, ill listen to literally 15-20 tracks, and not find anything, sometimes i feel like im passing potential chops up, but at the same time, im usually looking for a paticular sound, im jus wondering if yall feel the same
2. imma admit, imma internet digger, only cuz right now i aint got the money for a turntable right now, let alone records right now, its that stuggling student thing, but like, no matter how hard i dig, or how obscure something is, i feel like somewhere, some other cat is sampling or has sample the same exact record, this aint really a question, but its jus sumin i been thinkin bout

Your stress is just the hunger to find that right break, at times I sit for hours fliping records that dont have nothing I am looking for, then ill use a sample that is from the first 4 bars of the first record I looked at that day. It is all about the energy that is headed your way that day. I am the king of the dollar box!!!! half my collection is from the dollar box that might help you find more cuts to pull from....I belive quantity is better that Quality when it comes to record shopping...its time to sell those textbooks any way. Hit up that dollar box son!!!!!!!

1. Be patient...you might not find a something to sample in those records right away but the next day you might be inspired differently, it happens. The thing that I hate is rejecting a record and than find out that someone else made a banger of that same record.lol
2. Yeh we all sample from the same records, that's just how it is lol.

Same Thing Happens To Me Sometimes. I Might Listen To Like 15 Records And Then Go Back To The First Few And Grab The First Couple Of Bars From One Of Em. It Just Depends On Your Vibe As Stated B4

Oh man sometimes I sit there listening to records for hours lol. I mean most of the times I can hear something that I would use but sometimes I just let it sit and make a note to check it out later cuz I'm not really getting a idea from the sample right now. I usually try to use the parts that I visualize the whole beat from the second I hear the part.

I'll go through tons of records before finding anything. Also, sometimes I'll go back and listen to records that I didn't hear anything before... your ears and taste can change after a while.

same here. sometimes i'll go through mad records and make like 3-4 beats out of em then end up scrapping them all. then i'll go back to records i copped a few years ago and find some ill shit. i'm always like "why didn't i hear this before?" i'd say 50% of my beats are from recycled records. it just takes time.

Ah, I feel y'all! I tried to make a beat out of this Cameo record a few years back, but I gave up on it because it wouldn't fit correctly when I was trying to time stretch it. A few months later, "Bounce Back" by Juvenile came out, using that exact sample.
