Default a trip ...

OK, so here's the deal. I want to travel to more cities and buy records. I'm already familiar with Austin and St. Louis ... any other city is a candidate.

A few questions ...

1. Where should I go? Whatever city I pick, I'll do nothing but record shop and (if at all possible) maybe go to a sporting event in the city. If I could see a baseball game while I'm there, that's a big plus. Also, I want to keep money in mind here ... New York is probably the most obvious choice, but that shit is going to get expensive real quick. I'd also love to do it in California, but that can't be cheap.

2. If I fly, will getting my vinyl home be an issue? If I take a bunch of records on a plane, I don't want them to get damaged. Has anyone had good or bad luck with this?

Also, I'd love to hear about any trips you've been on ...

if youve got the time check 'the thing' in brooklyn. Place is ridiculous. Its like vinyl heaven/hell in one place. Nothing is catagorized! All th LP's are $1 and the 7"s 25 cents. The condition varies wildly too but the owner is always buying more stock so you will see the new stuff quite easily. You will need at least a day there though. Last time I went I got some real gems

Ohhhhhh just read 2. Yeah I live in the UK and had all my 7"s shipped back. they were all fine. A few cracked but then they cost 25 cents each so I cant really complain. Just package them well and send them airmail. if you do land mail they might not make it in one piece....
