Tough question... this should be interesting though. Lately, I've lost all concept of what rare is.

My favorite "harder to find" record is Shades of Black Lightning... paid a little too much money for it, but just had to have it.

I'm not sure about rare really, but my greatest digging story is copping the whole Olympic Runners discography for 15 bucks....

Frank Zappa playing with Pink Floyd. Recorded live in '69. Two of my favorite and I just happened to stumble across this on ebay.

I don't know how rare it actually is. But, like I said, Zappa and Floyd are two of my favs so I think I would have heard about this one.

Peace (like a river)

I got an Italian James Brown record that is SOLID as fuck. It has a glossy paged book inside with all these dope pics of the god father, tons of writing that I cant read cause its in Italian. Its from 1970 something....Ill post a pic when I can.
Its my favorite record I own. Bought it at a garage sale...dudes dad was over seas during a war and had bought some records. Now I have it!

Default Rare Joints...

yeah the rarest joint off the top of my head is 'Sophies Dream' and soundtrack to a german Porno / Art Flick. Also 'La Serpente' an italian porno joint. Both are full of ill breaks & Drums.

Ill let the MPC near them when ive compiled/finneshed my recent works.

Oh and a wierd high school private press LP of a show some students put on in the 70's. I want to get that re mastered before I sample it as it has some funky moments but the sound quality is appalling!

Those are my rarest joints off the top of my head. Dope digging story? The whole of the stylistics LP's for $2 each! Also 'The Thing' In brooklyn! All the 7"s there are 25 cents. Got most of James Brown's 7"s there and many of his side projects like Bobby Byrd and Maceo.

Hmm.

A few of my favorites are some bootleg jimi hendrix albums i have.

I also have a local college (university of washington) marching band on vinyl from 1961.

I have a weakness for high school and college marching band records.
