dude, don't get your knickers in a twist. We're all friends here. It's not like 'Team CrateKings vs CatasBeats' or some shit man, I promise.

Did you read my last post? And Grime's post?

You keep saying that a nice record sounds "better" than a cd, and I think most people here agree with you. Vinyl sounds better, nicer to listen to, etc etc. We are in agreement on this point.

Probably I should have used the word 'fidelity' earlier. Digital sources have superior FIDELITY than vinyl sources.

But by the way, the music that you hear on a vinyl record can be compressed or not, it's not like compression only happens with digital sources. Compression is a choice the engineer makes regardless of what medium the music's gonna end up on.

I promised myself I would no longer reply to this thread but it seemed like you thought it was Us vs You or something, so I wanted to clarify that we pretty much agree anyways and maybe it's just a difference of terminology.

By the way, Rolling Stone is a sucky magazine. I remember every review I read of every Radiohead album up to about Kid A or Amnesiac was pretty much the same and said this: "Well, it's pretty good but it ain't no U2." WTF? Thank God Radiohead isn't U2. Rolling Stone you are so stupid. Go away.

i think with all the new technology it has allowed people to get songs from all over the world...but i think you should still every once and awhile get vinyl.

I personally dont do it. there was a time that I would all the time. Now if I hear a hot sample somewhere I try to find the record theres always a lot of other hot sample son the record. Besides the best part is digging.

i like vinyl the most because you can find th weirdest obscure music from way back for like a few cents with crazy sampe music on it, wich nobody wants to remaster or distribute on cd or drop online, plus i think it's just more fun to play a record and chop it instead of download a mp3 or something like that. you actually got your samples in your hands.i love it.

Default No matter..

How you dig or where you dog, as long as your find is raw, fresh, and you use it well, you dug just great. There is no rules to it.

Hmmm. Love Primo to the T, but no sole person has the power to declare whats real & whats fake we all got different standards when it comes to that "real-fake" debate. Internet diggers Crate diggers Gold diggers its all the same you GOT to put in that work, if you want that unique, cold ass "Ima blow 'em out they mind" shit, its all time & effort regardless of what or how you get that sound. For him to say somethin' like that sound kinda ignorant, seeing he came from a era that basically didnt even have the INTERNET.

man i just read this long a-hole thread. Jeezus. Its crazy. How many of you are over 35. Yall act like yall invented hip-hop. Back in the day its understandable. Lets go to the record store and dig coo. The internet didnt exist, then it was only for cats who could afford it, and even if you had the internet it sucked. Now its the ish and everybody has it or has access to it. Theres is nothing wrong with sampling mp3s or internet digging. Its not 1976 anymore. We are no longer confined to turntables. its like telling a dj he needs to lug around crates and if you dont your not a real djay. all djays I KNOW either use cdjs or seroto scratch or the like and yes they started out on vinyl.

Even rzas screamin digital.

what the heck man. times change and unless you wanna get left behind you need to change with the times. I dont care what yall think. I dig on the internet (FOR FREE) way more than i go to some old dusty record shop (where i might find nothing that day and be mad i wasted my time). man you know what i dont even need to go to the record store and pay dumb prices for a record. all the old folk on my block and in my fam own records and when they die or dont want them anymore i take em. FOR FREE.

It is fun to go dig but theres all the rare stuff the right there on internet. I can find exactly what im looking for rather than playing the hope game. Thats not lazy.
Its called working smart not hard.

and to the dude who came on here talking bout sampling is stupid or whatever you must be real young if not your young in the head. my god this thread is crazy.
