Default you guys ever

have too many samples? lol

like i dont know. im pretty indecisive. i got a bunch of stuff i COULD sample, nothing really jumping and grabbing me tho, but i mean i can see like a bunch actually being cool beats if that makes sense. im just not feeling like chopping anything.

like ill start chopping something get bored with it and go looking through my samples for something else that grabs me more. but then after listening through shit ill just close out and say fuck it maybe next time lol

im slumping bad lol.

yeah just gotta remember, there's definitely labour involved with making beats. I hate labour, but I'm always glad after I knuckle down because boom, just made another beat to be proud of. Otherwise this beat never would have been made, nah mean?

Yeah I'm sitting on a lot of half finished beats. But you gotta push yourself to finish all your beats and then out of those you'll have soem gems and some throwaway tracks but you never know sometimes you'll think something is trash and then someone else hears it and they think it's the hottest joint you ever made. That's the problem with me though if I work on a beat too long I lose objectivity because I've heard the damn thing looped too many times to ever think it's good. So finish your beats in a timely fashion and you won't be sitting on a bunch of half finished beats that you're tired of.

I know what you meen, I've made about 100 beats that are complete garbage, It's all about trial and error. But usually everytime I make a throw away beat I stumble across a new technique e.g. compressing drums better, making chops smoother etc..

The more and more you practise, the more consistant you get.
