45s have less songs on them. 45s are smaller.

I dunno man, it's not like you can choose to get certain music on either 7-inch or 12-inch. Or 10-inch. You go dig, and you find what you find. Definitely dig for 45s. I love 45s, I like how they just have one song on them (usually) and so it kind of makes that song extra special, because you have to go through the whole thing of putting a record on, just for one song. Usually 45s are cheap too, or cheaper, which is nice because you can take a chance on an artist you've never heard before. I've had some nice surprises that way.

If you're a DJ, 45's look waay cooler when you're dropping a break set.

In the UK, our 12" singles used to be on 45 rpm, that just sucked!

why's that suck? I have a couple of 12" 45rpm singles... often I forget that they're supposed to be played at 45rpm. Is that why they suck?

They suck cos when you're cutting them up or getting on a double copy flex, you need to pull them back that much further to hit the spot you want to. Also, you might have a US pressing & a UK pressing, & I don't know why, but the US pressing normally sounds better, but I know in theory it shouldn't, but it just goes.

Generally speaking, most UK hip hop 12's now (if you can find them) are pressed on 33, and on the whole they do sound better now. Weird huh?
