Default illlllll

well, yesterday was a semi ill day of digging. Me and my homie def dee went up to this joint called bop street. Pretty dope spot. Records everywhere.

Were known by most of the record shops in that area, so they let us go in the basement to dig all the untouched, unpriced stuff. So we went down there, and finally came up with about 10 records total. I had 40 bucks to spend, my homie had 20. Turns out we had one record that was under 30 dollars. Every other record was 30+ dollars and we even found a 200$ record.

With that being said, we were pretty bummed, and the shop owner noticed, so he said i could come back tomorrow with my sampler and make beats downstairs.

Im so fuckin pumped. Thousands and thousands of records all at my disposal. And no one is ever down there, so its just me and those damn records. Im fuckin pumped.

has anyone ever done this?

I kinda did in a way, Me and my friend were at one of the local shops around us and we were digging and diggin, all of a sudden my friend drops his phone and when he reaches down to get it he sees a bunch of compartments filled with records, there were so many of them and we asked the owner what was up with them and he said 50 cents a record, we emptied all of those compartments, only problem is that some records were real scuffed up from being stuffed and crammed in it was a real shame though. By the way Grime you should make a vid with you makin beats down in that basement, that would be ill to see.

that's sweet grime. I always wondered about that type of thing. My favorite record spot here in town, the dude who is otherwise super chill and nice, he hates hip hop, he says he can't relate to it. He also says that he thinks that's how it should be, the older generation shouldn't be able to relate to the younger generation's music. I was like "I see what you mean, but also, music should be universal to a certain extent." Anyways, I'm not sure how he'd react if I asked him if I could just sample his shit without paying for it or whatever.

I also considered asking him if I could sort of 'rent' some records from him, take them home for a few days and sample them, then return them. Thing is, I like having them... I'd rather just save up the scrilla so I could own them.

At any rate, be sure to show us one or two of the beats you come up with down there man

PS what was the $200 record?

Shit was dope.

And i kept a log of all the records i sampled, (about 11) And showed them to the guy, and he only made me pay 10 bucks for them all. This place is a goldmine. There is SO much dope shit down there, and no one is ever there. And the 300 dollar record was this weird like 33 jazz import record from china.

heres the place

Thats me standing about at the end of the shelf. But behind me theres about 10 rows of records, and records just sitting around everywhere. place is a dream come true
