Now, I'm down with Obama on most things but on this one I have to disagree. I don't believe that just because a (possibly) good future president says " I like hiphop" that that makes him a good man or that it meens hes any more worthy of leading a country.
Obviously Obama see's the leadership and message potential in hip hop and it's also obvious that he's seasing the oportunity the gain more votes from the hiphop comunity, and that's fair enough when your fighting to be president. I just find it a little sad that when famous people talk about hiphop these days they have to drop the biggest names and by doing so enormously narrow down hiphops vision and potential. Though as he said he's not a master on the subject. But saying what he thinks hiphop should be and shouldn't be is where he goes wrong for me. I understand that what HE would like to see in hiphop is leadership and positive messages that encourage education adn such things but personaly I believe hiphop should be whatever each and everyone of us make it. Nothing should ever be expected from it and everything thats real and from the heart wether negative or positive shoudl at least be respected. So saying that hiphop should encourage education is bullshit to me.
Though this is said with all due respect
Interesting though, thanks for the post
