I think religion gets such a bad rap, because of things that people have done. Don't get the religion confused with the people. Same with science, which I personally think is a system of belief just like religion. Scientists have come up with some crazy shit, like atomic weapons that have killed lots of people, but also medicines that have saved lots of people's lives. Religion has resulted in crusades and genocides, but also love and kindness and humility. If Christ was a real person who actually lived, and not just a story, then DAMN what a cool guy. I'd probably follow him around and try to emulate him.

I think the problems we associate with religion (and science) actually stem from the people and not the institutions. People are flawed, and right on if people are trying to be as good as they can. If people follow a system in order to improve themselves, that's fine with me.

And also I think agnosticism is a perfectly defensible position. It's just honest, like someone said above. I have a black box, it's locked, do you believe there's a kitten inside? I mean, you probably want to believe that, because kittens are so cute. Maybe you want to believe that so much that you can hear the kitten meowing, even though I can't hear that.... Who's right? Hard to tell.
