Red Bull Big Tune Chicago National Finals (Giveaway)

On November 18th the world’s most talented producers and beatmakers will converge in Chicago to battle it out for the title of Red Bull Big Tune National Champion.

To celebrate the event Red Bull and Crate Kings are giving away tickets to the Red Bull Big Tune National Finals that will take place at Chicago’s Metro. Two winners will receive a pair of tickets each for the event.

Want to be there to see the action in person? Here’s what to do!

How To Enter:

Send an email to contest@cratekings.com with the name of each city that held a Big Tune regional event in 2010.
Answer the bonus question (optional): Who are the two producers that tied during a 2010 regional competition?

Deadline: Entries must be received by Monday, November 15th at 4PM EST.

UPDATE: Winners have been confirmed notified.

Notes:

Transportation will not be provided. You’ll have to find your own way to and from the event.
You only need to answer the first question to enter and be eligible. If needed, the bonus question will act as a tie breaking mechanism. If multiple entries are received with correct answers to the question and bonus question, winners will be chosen at random from among the entries.

Here’s a great chance for music makers to do what they love and possibly win some great prizes. The Ableton Summer Music Challenge offers young creators ages 18 and under the opportunity to win prizes for both themselves and their schools.

Challenge Details:

Two age groups: Under 15 and 15-18
One track per person
Must current be enrolled in an accredited primary or secondary school.

Prizes include product packages from Ableton, Novation, Soundcloud, and Loopmasters.

Duck Down NBA 2K11 Producer Contest

Duck Down Records and 2K Sports present the NBA 2K11 Producer/MC Contest. According to Duck Down, the winning producer will have his or her creation featured on the NBA 2K11 soundtrack along with an all-expense paid trip to NYC and the chance to perform live at the 2010 CMJ conference.

The contest is divided into two segments. The first segment focuses on producers while the second features MC’s competing over the winning instrumental. In addition to MP3 instrumentals, producers are encouraged to submit video footage with their entries.

Good luck to all readers of Crate Kings (hopefully you give us a shoutout)! Producers must submit an original, sample free instrumental by the March 22nd, 2010 deadline.

Crate Kings & Redef Present: Beat Break Theme Music Contest

While Crate Kings and Redefinition Records have been quietly teaming up for our own online producer video series entitled "Beat Break", it suddenly occurred to us that a proper video show should have proper theme music. We then realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase the talent of our readership by holding contest!

So here’s the proposition: Create an original theme song between 10-15 second long, work in the words "Beat Break", and send over an mp3 version.

For some this will be a chance to add the first bullet point to a new production resume, for others it will serve as additional exposure for an already growing career. Either way, we can’t wait to unveil the first episode and show the world how talented Crate Kings readers are.

1st Place Winner Receives:

Front page profile feature on CrateKings.com
Theme appearing at the beginning of at least one "Beat Break" segment.
Production credits at the end of each featured episode(s).

Additional Winners:
Depending on quality of submissions, additional winners may be selected to have their work and production credits showcased in later "Beat Break" segments.

How To Enter:

Create an original, sample or non-sample based composition between 10-15 seconds long that incorporates the words "Beat Break".
Email attached mp3 entries to contest@cratekings.com with the subject "Beat Break Theme".
Enter as often as you like, however, please consider quality over quantity.

Other Guidelines:

You agree to give Crate Kings and Redef free, unrestricted use of your original composition for the Beat Break series. (We don’t want to own your work, just use it for our own episodes.)
Winner(s) will be chosen by show producers with all decisions being final.

Entry Deadline: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 12AM EST.

Contest Tips:

Although the theme will be 10-15 seconds long, think of it as being a complete composition having a beginning, middle, and end. (Production vs. Beatmaking)
