Yes, Baseline Studios has closed. However, photographer Alexander Richter attended and documented the recording studio’s final event, a wake/viewing that took place on January 28th.

R.I.P. a lot of history has been made in that studio. i’m all for home studios, but it’s sucks they gotta shut down legendary studios that left their mark on the game.

i would love to keep just blaze’s MPC 4000 and turntables. thats one of my wishes as his biggest fan. R.I.P Baseline

From a fiscal point they probably were barely covering expenses. Running a studio of that size when your not booked at least 6 months of the year is a nightmare.

@Big Family – True. Especially in the urban music world, where production can be done almost entirely on a laptop. Hopefully he kept some of his outboard gear.
