Props to the Smoking Section and DJ Sorce-1 for dropping this incredible interview with Prince Paul detailing the production aspects behind De La Soul’s early work.  The interview is packed with stories about unreleased demos, samplers, and sample clearances… in other words, a producer’s dream!

While Just Blaze essentially rips the Akai MPC 5000 to shreds, Havoc states that he made the move and is "killing the game with it!"  I guess differing opinions make music a great thing.  Alchemist and Havoc also go on to address the difference between a producer and beatmaker, inspiration, and advice to new artists attempting to make a name for themselves.

DJ Premier talks about first getting involved with Hip-Hop, his musical inspiration, personal challenges, and most memorable moments.  Ignore the poor camera handling… it’s worth it.
